Which takes us to our next day in Ilha Bella, Beautiful Island. This is Ilha Grande after much development. We quickly realized that this island is much more David’s and my speed.
The island is relatively close to Sao Paolo (4-hour drive) and 85% is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. They have 360 waterfalls and 25 miles of beaches so many people have second homes here. While the population is 35,000 it grows during the holiday months so that there can be 100,000 people on the island. It was relatively neat and tidy with more paved roads and motor vehicles. We noted several pleasant looking hotels overlooking the seas.
We visited some very pretty waterfalls in the forest and spent time chilling out and trying to take photos of a hummingbird.
This is a beautiful island for adults.
That night they had a Venetian Society party where they offered to present us with our 100 Night certificate. We declined and had it delivered to the room.
