Whittier is located at the head of Prince William Sound. The town only has 300 residents and they all live in the same 14 story building, Begich Towers.

We had booked a tour directly to do the 26-Glacier Cruise, so we walked the 30 minutes from the new cruise port to join another boat for a 5 hour cruise. Several of our friends joined as well.

After lunch onboard the boat (capacity of 330) we cruised around the Sound to view many, many glaciers.

We saw several Bald Eagles, sea otters and a humpback whale.

It was cool but the scenery kept beaconing us outside for better views. The waterfalls, lush tree covered mountains, other mountains covered in snow, and of course the 26 glaciers we visited were special. We even heard the roar and saw the caving of a glacier.

It was a very, very nice day.
